50 years after Godzilla's original attack, Admiral Taizo Tachibana warns that Japan should be prepared in case another appears. His warnings fall on deaf ears including his daughter Yuri's. When Godzilla finally returns the military prove ill prepared against his might. Yuri tracks down a mysterious old man who claims Japan's guardian monsters will rise to battle Godzilla. Baragon, Mothra and King Ghidorah engage Godzilla in a battle to the death. As Yuri attempts to make up for her disrespect, Tachibana joins the guardians in a war to save Japan's latest generation.
