Garage: Bad Dream Adventure
Dark Nebula
StaffRespectedDec-05-2023 12:47 PMGarage: Bad Dream Adventure is a 1999 bizarre Japanese point-and-click adventure game developed by Kinotrope and directed by Tomomi Sakuba.
In Garage, a man named Yang (or Yan) is connected to a psychotherapeutic machine known as "Garage" and finds himself trapped in his mind in the form of a bio-machine. To escape, he must explore the dark decaying city filled with wooden buildings and rusty metal, talk to the inhabitants, solve puzzles, fish frogs, and most importantly to find his "shadow".
The game's development began in 1995 and it was released in 1999 for PC. Due to the game's original limited release of 3000 units, because the publisher withdrew from CD-ROM publishing, the game fell into obscurity. In 2004 a private edition was available but it was also very limited. In 2013 a search for the game was started on 4chan and in 2014 someone got a hold of a physical copy of the game from Yahoo Auctions Japan and released a translated version on the internet. Then in 2021, an official remastered version of the game was released on Google Play and App Store, and in 2022 the game was released on Steam.
