AdminAtmanJan-16-2022 7:33 AMI've just launched a new Notification feature across the Scified network. Something that's always been missing from this forum and many other from the era we were born from was a way to alert users of when new content was posted that was relevant to them. Much like how social media apps and sites feed you notifications of content that's important to you, now Scified will to!
The feature is new and will undergo improvements over time but for now the feature works to alert you of new replies to topics you've created and news articles you've published. You will also receive notifications when you receive XP points for contributing content as well as be notified when articles you've published are trending.
The goal of this update is to make finding new content relevant to you specifically, much easier and localized in a convenient, chronologically ordered list. New notifications are highlighted with a white background and dark text with a yellow light indicator to help highlight new content for you.
You have 2 options you can select as well from your new Notification menu which is triggered by clicking the Bell icon beside your profile icon. These 2 options are Mark All As Seen or Clear All Notifications. The former will simply acknowledge you have seen and caught up on all the currently new notifications you have waiting for you. The latter will actually delete your current list of notifications to clear any clutter. Your notifications tab will show the 50 most recent notifications for you.
Currently emails are NOT sent to members upon receiving new notifications to reduce spam. Simply log in to see what's new for you.
This feature is now live on most network sites across Scified with the remainder being updated this week. Any feedback is greatly appreciated as always!
