MemberNoobOct-05-2012 7:01 AMI was wondering what kind of weapons they would use against the monsters. Do they perhaps use very large bullets, rockets, or instead will they use lasers and plasma?

MemberNoobOct-05-2012 10:02 AMI hope to see a little of everything. Bullets, missiles, lasers, blades, you name it.
I expect there might be some kind of energy weapon that can be powered up via the two pilots' linked minds. That seems to be the key to the "legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past"--pair the proper pilots in the mech, get their neural bridge to a pure sync, and the thing becomes godlike.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

MemberNoobOct-05-2012 2:41 PMThat actually sounds like a cool idea with linked mind weapon. I also hope there will be a variety, and I think it would be cool to see for example to see giant shell casings hitting the water. I mean just imagine the size!

AdminAtmanOct-05-2012 8:11 PMHey AgentMothman, welcome to the Pacific Rim Forums! Great topic!
As for the OP, I think we can expect rocket launchers and massive bullets for sure. As for lasers, I'm not sure. Lasers are kind of "meh" in my book. If done well it can work, but otherwise I fear it could look too cheesy. I'd like to see some unique weapons, something really "out there"! It's science fiction after all, so the possibilities are endless.
PS. AgentMothman, your profile pic is awesome. Giant lobster from Godzilla - epic!

Very like Evangelion Unit 2 when Asuka and Shinji pilot it at the same time................... And take on that undersea Angel in the original series :-D

MemberNoobOct-09-2012 6:38 AMYeah, I have yet to finish Evangelion (I know shame on me). I only got to about the second episode, but I will continue watching it soon.

MemberNoobJan-07-2013 12:06 AMPerhaps they can all join together like transformers and by judging the size of the last monster at the end of the trailer they will have to.
as for weapons I think stabbing and sawing will be the most effective as their skin looks pretty tough and durable.
I think they will be fighting hand to hand in most cases and winning through wounds and bone breaking.
I think the glowing light the monsters carry in their mouths and behind their head will be their downfall once they humans figure out what it is.
