What Is Your Favourite Marvel Comics Rivalry And Why?

The definition of rival is 'one who strives to equal or excel another'; (Funk and Wagners dictionary definition). In Marvel, there have been countless rivalries that have been iconic to their respective comics. For this post, we're here to talk about our favourite rivalries and what makes them so great.

I'm going to start with my personal favourite, who are also my favoutite hero and villain in Marvel; Logan, a.k.a. Wolverine and Victor Creed, better known as SABERTOOTH.

(For this post I will go on the comic storyline where they are related)

For as long as these two feral mutants of the X-Men comics have been in existence, Victor Creed has been fighting tooth and nail (pun intended) to prove one thing; that he was a better killing machine than his half-brother, James Howlett (Logan). Logan, compared to Victor, is the literal representation of the song "Anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you." 

As much as Victor had age and size on him, Logan showed superiority within his mutation, primarily within his healing factor and bone claws. Not to mention that if (and sometimes when) he suc***ed to it, Wolverine's primal Berserker rage made him stronger and potentially more lethal than Victor.

 Victor then made it his life's mission to become the more deadly animal, and also see if he could bring out the same animal in Logan. The way that Victor even spoke with Logan, only ever calling him "Runt"; Essentially trying to pove his own Alpha status over him wherever he could. 

Comics have shown different fates for these two primal beings; usually with Logan killing Victor, but somehow he always seems to come back (check out the comic Wolverine: Sabertooth reborn) and they end up back at square one. Perhaps in the future we will see a better cinematic presentation of the two (because Origins was dubbed as a terrible film). 

There you have it, the most greusome and bloody sibling rivalry, with all the claws and fangs you could possibly want. So who likes this rivalry and who has another great one? Let me know.
