Top 5 Biggest Prequel Problems
I Meme Everything
Member2KOct-14-2016 1:53 PMEveryone here who knows me knows how much I used to ****ING HATE THE STAR WARS PREQUELS MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF. I'm over that now, but they still have flaws. So today I'm counting down the top 5 worst things in the prequels.
5. Overuse of CG
One of the best things about the OT was the use of practical effects. But in the prequels, there was filthy, ****ty, fake-ass CGI that made me foam in the mouth. The overusage of green screens was absolutely ****ing atrocious.
4. Politics
The politics were boring as ****. Yes, they were important to the story, but they weren't interesting at all.
3. Ruined the Character of Darth Vader
The main focus of the prequels was Vader's past, but holy **** they ****ed that up. Anakin was more whiny than ****ING ANH LUKE SKYWALKER. Seriously, how the Hell is this *****:
the same guy as THIS BADASS MUTHA****A:
2. Cringiest Romance Story EVER
As if the ruining of Darth Vader wasn't bad enough, they made the couple that would create the galaxy's new hope
CRINGEY
AS
****
Anakin "I don't like sand" Skywalker and Padme "You're breaking my heart" Amidala were a **** couple. Even more so than Owen Grady and Claire Dearing in Jurassic World. That's saying a lot.
1. Jar Jar Binks
'Nuff said.

MemberInitiateDec-11-2016 6:27 AMHe doesn't really go into any information on some things. He just mentions how the prequels ruined some characters but doesn't really defend that point.
That would be like me saying TFA ruins Luke and just leaving it at that.

Member2KDec-11-2016 6:34 AM^He did explain how freaking Yoda was ruined

MemberInitiateDec-11-2016 7:14 AMNo he didnt he made the same point you did, and you can look at the last page for how that did nothing to ruin his character.

Member2KDec-11-2016 7:21 AM^Sure, but other iconic characters, like Darth Vader, R2-D2, and C-3PO were ruined

MemberInitiateDec-11-2016 7:38 AMHow were R2 and C-3PO ruined?
Don't agree Vader was, and I also stated why on the other page.

Member2KDec-11-2016 7:39 AM^R2 was able to do things he couldn't do in the OT, and Threepio in AOTC made me throw up

MemberInitiateDec-11-2016 7:52 AMA lot of R2 doing new things has to do with effects. It wasn't possible to have him fly in the 70s.
C3PO is no different to me. He's meant to be an annoying complainer, he was that in the OT too.

Member2KDec-11-2016 11:21 AM^Lol, it still doesn't make sense that he was more advanced in a trilogy that takes place earlier

MemberInitiateDec-11-2016 12:13 PMThe only difference is the jetpacks, and logically it makes sense that it would have those as a way to get into the ships it copilots.
They didn't give him anything that outlandish, and giving him a jetpack isn't something that I would call ruining his character.

And then never use them again in Star Wars '77, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi? I agree the characters weren't ruined, necessarily, but they weren't given any favors either. It feels like a lot of the characters seen in the prequel trilogy were more like parodies of what we knew of them from the original trilogy. Not literally so, but everyone felt a lot less serious than what was expected.

MemberInitiateDec-11-2016 1:09 PMAs I said it was kind of an effects thing. Making R2 fly just wasn't possible in that capacity for the ot, at least not without a huge budget being devoted to that.
R2 is also literally different for the OT since the last things you see about him and C3PO is Bale Organa saying to wipe their memories and refit them since he gets them at the end of Episode 3.

Member2KDec-11-2016 1:10 PM^It was only Threepio who got his memory wiped
I say Threepio was ruined because he was temporarily a battle droid

MemberInitiateDec-11-2016 1:15 PMNo it was both, C3PO was just the one to comment "oh dear" when he heard it.

MemberNoobJul-10-2018 5:33 AMThe acting - I think the worst thing about the prequels was the acting! Most of the main cast is made up of good actors (Even Hayden has done some decent things) but somehow they all seemed to just phone it in for these movies.
