Just wondering, what do you think is the worst sci-fi franchise? I say Transformers. All four are terrible. Yes, the AVPs were also bad but at least they didn't make me go blind, get a seizure, or get epilepsy from how ****ty they were.

I personally think.... Stah Wahs...
Great question tho, upvoted!

There are a lot of Sci movies I don't like, but it's hard nailing down an entire franchise.

I'm with Durp, it's difficult to narrow down one franchise. One individual film as well, would be challenging as a lot of science fiction is appreciated differently by how those who view it interpret it.
Transformers I feel gets a bad rap due to Michael Bay's relationship with the live-action films. Not necessarily because the franchise's themes or characters are in any way terrible.

What would people expect from Transformers? It's a two hour toy commercial for robots punching each other. The visual effects in those films are fantastic, but I'll be buggered if I can tell the good robots from the bad ones a lot of the time.

Sharknado...the acting is silly and though this could happen in real life (watch Film theory). It's kind of silly.

AND TRANSFORMERS IS AWESOME!
"A living nuclear weapon destined to walk the Earth forever. Indestructible. A victim of the modern nuclear age."

I have only seen the 2nd one and the others look awful, so yeah, Transformers is definitely a major contender. They would be redeemable if they at least were fun to make fun of, but they are just unbearable.

I don't know if I can pinpoint an entire franchise that's one big sin. Generally everything in science fiction I find minimally interesting. Even with the Transformers movies being as bad as they are, the franchise itself still has Transformers Prime and the legendary Beast Wars to fall back on.
I noticed someone above said, "What would people expect from Transformers? It's a two hour toy commercial for robots punching each other," but that's no excuse for poor writing. If budget slashed, children's television shows can come up with clever, engrossing storytelling in a 20 minute time slot, then a $100 million production should be able to do the same.
Any franchise can be a mix of good and bad (and most are), but for a franchise to be awful in every single facet--I'm not sure I've ever seen that. Even Sharknado succeeds in exactly what its suppose to do. It's practically a comedy and I'll be damned if I don't laugh with it at every turn.

theres so many...
hunger games,
(new) star wars
avp (the worse)
transformers
underworld (angrier twilight)
maze runner
....
theres more

I liked the Transformer movies but AVP nearly made me foam at the mouth and gone blind! AVP and the ****ty in-name only Resident Evil aka Alice in Zombieland movies is the by far the worse Franchise ever, they almost gave me brain cancer!

I like Underworld, Transformers, Hunger Games and Maze Runner. But i HATE Sharknado.
