AdminAtmanMay-12-2016 3:57 PMFor me, nothing beats the Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon vs. Darth Maul lightsaber duel. To this day it is still my favorite of the entire saga. Hard to beat Maul.

Member2KMay-12-2016 5:56 PMDarth Vader is my favorite character, but Maul is a close second.
My list would go like this:
5. Count Dooku vs Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda.
4. Vader vs Luke ROTJ
3. Maul and Savage Opress vs Darth Sidious
2. Yoda vs Sidious
1. Anakin vs Obi-Wan/ Luke vs Vader 1
Good grief.

MemberLegendMay-15-2016 12:32 PMThe latter half of the climatic fight from Episode I has my vote as the best lightsaber duel or Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Darth Maul.
The reason I only choose the latter half is this - despite having been told off by George Lucas for making the humming sounds of the lightsaber on set Scottish actor Ewan McGregor amazed everyone when filming the final duel with co-star Ray Park when in a highly technical part of the fight (where McGregor had to parry a flurry of attacks - 3:30 onwards in the video below) in post production they actually had to slow down the action for the theatrical release.
In the original trilogy the saber duels are mostly about Vader posing while Luke hacks away, and in episodes II and III were too much like a dance routine, even Anakin vs Obi-Wan had moments that felt too fake, though there rematch in A New Hope is probably the worst duel IMO, as it's obvious neither actor (David Prowse or Alec Guinness) took the time to learn the craft (which probably hadn't been fleshed out by then anyways).
The duel between Rey and Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens did impress with Kylo's savage style being similar to Luke's and Reys mirroring that Obi-Wan (Mcgregor version), giving us a nice mixture of both techniques. That said, I loved Dooku vs Yoda, for the little green masters cheek of force-grabbing his walking stick after having backflipped all over the cave they were fighting in like a hyperactive flea.
I don't know about the fourth or fifth place but as such here's my top three...
3. Obi-Wan vs Anakin
2. Rey vs Kylo Ren
1. Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul

Sidious vs Jedi masters sucked, Kit Fisto died within the first 15 seconds of the fight

MemberInitiateSep-01-2016 5:14 AMHow does that mean it sucked? Sidious is the most powerful sith ever, it says something about Kit that he even managed to last those 15 seconds.

Member2KSep-01-2016 6:36 AM^I know Sidious is extremely strong, but not Dr. Doom strong

MemberInitiateSep-01-2016 7:46 AMHe's definitely Dr. Doom levels of strength. He's the ultimate creation of the rule of 2 sith and their building of power they did for 1000 years. He's a grand manipulator. The only one who was close to him at that time was Yoda and it took him almost 900 years of studying the force to be on par with Sidious.
This guy is a beast. If you go by Legends continuity in Dark Empire he could create force storms so strong they could wipe out fleets, he was a master of all 7 lightsaber forms, and beat Galen Maker(starkiller) who pulled down a Star Destroyer.

a) is not the real SW continuity
and
b) is bull****

MemberInitiateSep-03-2016 6:37 PMOk........
A) It was for over 30 years which is much longer than what the new continuum has gone on for and was the established continuity while 6 of the 7 films were released.
B) I doubt you know much about it outside of maybe the few wikipedia articles you've seen, but if that was the case why does the new one keep taking from it, or just slightly altering things. The Force Awakens that you love:
Kylo Ren is essentially Darth Caedus
Star Killerbase is essentially the galaxy gun
The first order is just the empire remnants
That's not even mentioning the things from Rebels or The Clone Wars that are from Legends.
I don't like everything from Legends, but there's enough great content within it that it definitely isn't as you say "bull ****".

Member2KSep-04-2016 6:21 AM^I mostly hated the post-ROTJ Legends except Darth Caedus. I like him, the Old Republic stuff, and The Force Unleashed. That's it.
Oh and don't even get me started on TFUII.

MemberInitiateSep-04-2016 9:50 AMBut why. You didn't like it, but what about it sucks? Especially since Darth Caedus is such a big part of the post ROTJ universe, and if you like him, he's a huge part of The New Jedi Academy series, and Legacy of the Force.
I have a lot of problems with the Post ROTJ content too, but it also brings in the Thrawn trilogy and Yuuzhan Vong. But the Old Republic era makes up most of the Star Wars timeline in legends along with Clone Wars and if you like those, for the most part, that makes up a pretty huge portion of Legends.
