Cool article Sawa.I didn't know they sort of re-shot some scenes using Harrisons son to get the lip sinking correct,and I also didn't know they touched up Batty's death scene...gonna watch those scenes a little more closely now :)

Charles de Lauzirika: Even if you read something like "Future Noir: the Making of Blade Runner", which is considered the definitive making-of book, there are still things you have no idea existed before now.

Definitely both are more so technical articles; nonetheless, very informative. I think the full true benefits are experienced only theatrically. Home Video Disc formats are quite flawed in many respects, as they use high compression to fit the film onto a single low capacity disc.

The resulting problem, is usually some issue with digital artifacts, and other related picture anomalies. As well, there is the controversy with the transfer staff; if making further alterations to the picture, using smoothing filters (DNR). And of which, can give the performers a somewhat waxy look to their skin (among other visual oddities).

Although, I don't have any serious complaints about the latest BR disc-transfers, as they are some of the best done to date on Blu-ray. However, of course I am still looking forward to the day we can have the uncompressed transfers, on home video.
