MemberNoobJul-23-2013 10:04 AMWell, I think it would have to make at least $300 million worldwide or something around there to justify the sequel. It could be possible for PR to achieve this.

MemberNoobJul-23-2013 4:39 PMI have heard that to be profitable it has to be upwards at 400 million and I think it could make it there with DVD sales and other things, but I think it will probably be short a little at the box office.

MemberNoobJul-24-2013 8:26 PMAt this point in time, Pacific Rim's International grosses depend on two countries (and I am not sh*tting anyone about this): China and Japan. Should both countries embrace it like the U.S. has (idiots), then 400+ million is out of the question. If China, or both, embrace it and love it, then we could EASILY get a sequel. While it would be nice for PR to make serious cash in other countries, PR's International hopes really lie with those two.
Of course, in that case, I'm scared to think that Warner Bros. would just f*ck up the marketing for it AGAIN.

PR will kill in Japan, and look how well Man of Steel did in China which im sure doesnt have a long term affiliation with the Superman brand. PR has a Chinese jaeger and alot of the action takes place in Hong Kong - will do well.
