I was watching this clip of Gamera 2 and noticed how similar Legion's head is to Knifehead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCHj8hOc6uE Legion also eats silicon. So the PR kaiju are screwed. :) Still it would be one cool fight to watch.

Del Toro is a fan of Kaiju films and he said that he based the designs off of other Kaijus so that is where the similarities com from.

While Del Toro is a fan of the Kaiju genre, he based his creatures more off of animals in the real world, not around other Kaiju. Knifehead is based around a Goblin Shark, Raiju based off of a Galapagos Iguana, etc, etc.
