I wanted to start this thread off with a question and a simple request. First the request, I Absolutely cannot WAIT for Pacific rim and I also cannot wait to read the Graphic novel, but I have not gotten to read it yet so can we keep this spoiler free from the Novel please? That would be awesome. So, I am coming into this movie a Kaiju/monster movie fan and REALLY like the design and idea of the Kaiju in this movie so like everyone I have a question or two. First off, does anyone know if the Kaiju are all stand alone organisms, unique in and of themselves? Or is Otachi and LeatherBack a species rather than a single Kaiju? Second, do we know if they are sentient yet?

So far all we knows is we see only one by one of each kaiju. not known if they are part of a species. They are to a degree depending on each category. Cat 1 isn't as smart as a cat 5.
