Christopher Nolan - Screenplay/Producer/Director
Located in central London, UCL (University College London) is world-renowned for its innovative teaching methods and pioneering research. Although UCL is known for opening its doors since 1826 to all people regardless of race, religion or creed, the university is one of the most selective campuses in the world. One Hollywood personality that was selected to study at UCL was Christopher Jonathan James Nolan; whose work ethic and intellect embodies innovative and pioneering as previously mentioned in regards to UCL. I use the terminology “Hollywood personality” very carefully when speaking of Mr. Nolan, for Hollywood often dumbs-down genres for ticket sales. Mr. Nolan aspires to deliver grand scale entertainment (movies with a rich plot and well devised dramatic/action sequences) each time audiences enter multiplexes and IMAX theaters.
On January 9, 2013 deadline.com reported that Mr. Nolan’s next film would be Interstellar, which was originally written by his younger brother Jonathan Nolan. The script was to be directed by legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg, however the project was passed to the non-linear storyteller thorough a complex deal between Paramount and Warner Bros.
Mr. Nolan has cited Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and the excellent do***entary For All Man Kind as his some of his favorite films. The influence of these monumental films will most certainly be seen in the aesthetics of Nolan’s ninth film to date.
The older Nolan will incorporate an idea of his own into the original story, and as we all learned from 2010’s Inception: An idea is the most resilient parasite. Interstellar will be the latest project of Nolan’s Syncopy Inc. production company.

Lynda Obst - Producer
There are no magic keys to Hollywood a wise college professor and former producer once said. There are those with Ivy League education, and those with GEDs that have successfully made or failed at making the cut into the Hollywood. Seasoned producer Lynda Obst transcended into the film industry after a successful journalism career. Ms. Obst received her undergraduate and graduate education at the prestigious universities Pomona College and Columbia University respectively.
Ms. Obst served as an unofficial editor on Professor Kip Thornes’ “Black Holes and Time Warps: Einstein’s Outrageous Legacy”, the book that Interstellar’s scientific foundation will be based on. It is known that Ms. Obst and Kip Thorne crossed paths on the 1997 film Contact, but the aforementioned book was published in 1994, which suggests that their professional relationship may have been long established before the 1990s.
Now Ms. Obst may be embarking on the biggest film of her career in a creative and financial sense.

Emma Thomas - Producer
Emma Thomas also attended the prestigious University College of London with her future filmmaker spouse. Some sources have said that Thomas majored in history, and after graduation she worked as an assistant to the director of the comedy-drama High Fidelity.
Thomas predominately handles the business side of Syncopy Inc’s ventures, however her creative prowess is evident on any behind-the-scenes features on home media versions of her films.

Jonathan Nolan - Screenplay
The younger sibling of Christopher Nolan is well known for his short story “Memento Mori” and his co-penning of The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. Recently Jonathan Nolan has made his mark in television with the critically acclaimed series Person of Interest.
A graduate of Georgetown University, Jonah Nolan has been sought after by studios to pen stories that were seemingly inadaptable such as the yet-to-be filmed The Chicago Fire. In the mid 2000s Nolan was part of a workshop with physicists that formulated the story for Interstellar. Although Christopher Nolan has made amendments to the original draft, Jonah Nolan’s idea of including a time element to the story was warmly welcomed by Lynda Obst and Professor Kip Thorne.

Kip Thorne - Story/Technical Consultant
Visitors on Kip Thorne’s California Institute of Technology biography page will be immersed in publications and a curriculum vitae that seemingly expands light years.
Many persons of Thorne’s’ intellectual capacity are solely quantitative thinkers and have difficulty explaining their discipline(s) without “dumbing down” the material. However, Dr. Thorne is able to qualitatively explain his research and the research of others to readers through practical examples and exemplary narrative. This is clearly displayed in his lauded 1994 best-seller “Black Holes and Time Warps: Einstein’s Outrageous Legacy”. “Black Holes and Time Warps contains scenarios of a crew being pulled into a black hole, background on Einstein’s ventures as a patent office worker, and a humorous wager between Dr. Thorne and Dr. Stephen Hawking that involved a subscription of Penthouse magazine.
Dr. Thorne’s involvement with Interstellar is shrouded in more secrecy than the mysteries that make-up our universe. However it is believed that the treatment for Interstellar was based off of his 1994 bestseller and other publications.
