Sean Young, who played Rachel would be too old to play the part. Remember she was in her prime when she played that role. It is thought that replicants that are experimental models like Rachel would be expected to age gracefully due to enhanced genetics if you remove the 4 year block. Unless they did a retro Tron type CG technique like they did with Jeff Bridges but I really didn't quite like the effect. It was a bit off. I don't, for this reason think she should be cast in this movie. Ford as a cameo of Deckard is another story as we expect him to age even if he is a nexus 6 since he is undercover even to himself so he would have to show normal aging so as not to incite suspicion by his coworkers and others.

Exactly; Ridley said he would have him in as a cameo, but he never said he would have him in as Deckard. :P None of the original cast will be back, Ridley has already stated that publicly.

If they do CG cameos of Rachel and Deckard it would have to be better than that of Tron remember they are to be "more human than Human!". But hey maybe they did only have an 8 year life span...that would be funny. I think the expectation for this coming film will be Heavy and most anticipated but as I learned from Prometheus it is probably best to not know and let it all be a pleasant surprise.
