MemberNoobSep-27-2012 1:05 AMI did this a couple years back but with the sequel coming I thought it would be interesting to revisit. He states that Deckard was a new type, a Nexus 7, one that was so perfect they could not be detected for anything other than human.
To me this is odd as he did not have great physical strength and dexterity. An original tagline for the film said "man has made his equal, now it is his problem". I always saw the film as a triumph of the human spirit. Deckard was a broken, and flawed man, he was up against beings who were smarter, faster, and stronger than he was, yet through love, and endurance, he overcomes and survives.
The point was to show that our creations were more like us that we ever thought they could be as they had our hopes, flaws, and questions.

Admin2KSep-27-2012 1:48 AM@Garethvk; I always thought Deckard and Rachel both had average human strength so they would never suspect they were replicants. It's a really interesting debate, ty for sharing your article with us! :)
