Just looking at the trailer for the 416,000th time, and sure hoping that Guillermo has avoided the 1990's Godzilla mistake of shooting all his monster shots in the rain at night. The kaiju attack on the Golden Gate Bridge at least looks like it's a daytime shot, albeit a gloomy day, but there's an awful lot of rainy, dark shots in the trailer.

I think we're gonna get a great variety of scenes. GDT mentioned a snowstorm fight, plus there's that awesome shot of Gipsy Danger falling to its Knees on a beach in daylight. I don't think there's the need to mask imperfections with contrast like in the old days, now its all mood. Plus, it's GDT! This should be a visual feast. This is the first time I've been excited about giant monsters since I was a kid!

Me too Major N. I'm 58 and can remember the early Ray Harryhausen movies, and marvelling at them, thinking special effects can't get any better than that. If I had seen the trailer for this movie when I was 12 years old, I think my brain would have exploded. Can't wait. My 13 year old son thinks I'm a little over the top.

Leggy- pleased to meet you! I remember the Harryhausen movies on Saturday afternoons, along with Godzilla and those weird Italian monster movies. I was a Harryhausen nut too, what was that last film he did in the 70's, the one with the six armed statue sword fight? Brilliant. I do believe your son will change his tune well before exiting the theatre!
