War Machine is a brand new sci-fi action thriller currently topping the charts on Netflix. Starring Alan Ritchson, Dennis Quaid and Jai Courtney, the film centers on a band of US Army Ranger trainees who, while on an elite training exercise, come face-to-face with an extraterrestrial mechanical threat. The film is over-the-top in all the best ways and will touch a nostalgic nerve with fans of 80's science fiction. The alien protagonist presents itself as a towering mecha, very reminiscent of the ED-209 from Robocop.
This mechanical behemoth went through a number of alternative designs, of which a few were created by Victor Martinez (who we recently spoke to about his work on an early version of the Alien Earth TV series).
