It's about damn time! For anyone who grew up in the 90s binge watching this iconic animated series like I did, you will be thrilled to know that Paramount Pictures are reportedly developing a reboot of the Beast Wars brand by way of a new Transformers: Beast Wars movie! Deadline report that two new Transformers titles are actively being written right now at Paramount - one set in the Bumblebee universe, while the other is focused on the Beast Wars spin-off, with Murder Mystery scribe James Vanderbilt and Army of the Dead scribe Joby Harold penning scripts.
The Beast Wars spin-off first aired in an animated TV series which spanned 3 seasons and aired between 1996 and 1999. The show saw an alternate take on the popularized Autobots vs. Decepticons war - featuring Maximals vs. Predacons instead. In place of mechanical vehicles, the robot alien warriors took the shape of their more organic surroundings to disguise themselves as various animals and yes, even extinct Dinosaurs. The Predacons clearly had the more engaging faction as a kid - having Megatron paired with a T-Rex and other Predacons taking the form of other Dinosaurs and Tarantulas - how could you not side with the bad guys?
With today's level of technology, we can't wait to see what Paramount have cooking behind the scenes for this exciting reboot.
