Three weeks this Friday will see the release of the fourth instalment of director Michael Bay's big screen adaptation of Hasbro's world recognized toy-line that has ignited childhood imaginations since the 1980's. Every young boy loves to play with toy cars, fighter jets and construction vehicles, and every young boy loves to play with toy robots - and Hasbro's Transformer line of toys allowed all young boys to play with both, at the same time by having toy vehicles become toy robots. While not a wholly original idea (other similar toys existed at the time), Hasbro's rendition of the vehicles and their robot forms, theirs toy build quality, and subsequent adaptations in cartoon and comic book form, established Transformers as the premier transformation toy line.
