After a painfully slow October which saw Tron: Ares struggle to make any significant headway at the Box Office, here comes the Predator to shock some life back into Hollywood! Dan Trachtenberg's latest entry in the iconic sci-fi film franchise has defibrillated the global Box Office, slicing itself the biggest piece of the Box Office pie this weekend! Predator: Badlands opened this past Friday (November 7th) to $15.6 million. Yesterday, it earned an additional $14 million, bringing its haul to roughly $40 million domestically in just 2 days. Sunday's numbers having not even been factored in yet.

Internationally, the film has performed just as well – doubling its domestic take to a respectable $80 million global head start! While the momentum is impressive for a Predator movie, it has some ground to cover still if it hopes to overtake Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus, which garnered $108 million globally ($41.5 million domestically + $66.7 million overseas) during its opening weekend back in August 2024.
Predator: Badlands only saw a dip of 10% in revenue between Friday and Saturday, which bodes well for the radically unorthodox Yautja flick. While reviews remain predominantly positive, Dan Trachtenberg did take the franchise in a significantly different direction – prompting some polarizing opinions within the fandom. However, the PG-13 rating which allows for a broader audience, paired with the broader storytelling scope seem to be working in the Predator's favor.

At the current rate it looks like Badlands will fare much better than Tron: Ares did going into its second weekend (Ares saw a dramatic 65% dip going into its second weekend). After Ares' unfortunate flop, Disney could use a little boost from the Yautja.
