Terminator: Genesis is labelling itself as a pseudo reboot/sequel, crossing over the events of the established series a la Back to the Future Part II, while creating its own alternate timeline of events in which to explore in planned sequels and a TV series, a la Star Trek 2009. Whether or not fans and average moviegoers are gonna like what they have thought up remains to be seen. But their slight re-inventing of the franchise seems to extend from the movies time travel antics all the way down to the the movies title logo, as showcased alongside one of the movies props at this years Licensing Expo, held in Las Vegas earlier today. Compared to the franchises iconic font (bottom picture), there are key differences...





Interestingly the title logo says "Terminator" not "Terminator: Genesis". While its possible that the sub-title Genesis may just be a working title, its more likely that these logos were created back when the film was known just as "Terminator".
