The highly anticipated live action Halo TV series is back on track and will begin filming later this year, new reports suggest! After attempts to adapt Halo into a full length motion picture failed, Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and Showtime are teaming up to produce a sci-fi drama TV series set within the Halo universe instead.
The project was originally announced back in 2013 by 343 Industries, but failed to release in 2015 as originally planned. Now, the project is being actively pursued once again and will apparently begin filming this Fall, with a possible 2019 or 2020 release timeframe.
It will be interesting to see how well Spielberg and Showtime handle the Halo property and if their series captivates fans the way the videogames have. It is also unknown what the overall plot will be about, or if the series will focus on Master Chief at all, but as new details arrive we'll be sure to keep you posted!
