If you were holding your breath and desperately hoping that Steven Spielberg would direct a Star Wars movie, we're afraid we've got some news that will burst your ballon: he confirmed at a press event for The BFG that he will never tackle the franchise.
He was quoted as saying: "It's just not my genre...that was never for me. I'm just a fan, I'm just with everybody else in the audience watching them."
He went on to refer to George Lucas as the Thomas Edison of science-fiction for creating the multi-billion dollar space opera franchise.
