That's right! Star Wars 7 will begin filming in just under 2 months in London, The official Star Wars website announced today. Along with revealing a timeline in which the seventh sequel will take place in; roughly 30 years after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. To further tease fans, they also relinquished some details about the cast, all but confirming what everyone had been speculating for months - that "familiar faces" will be returning, as well as a new band of young stars. Here's a couple excerpts from the official statement made today:
Disney and Lucasfilm are excited to announce that principal photography on Star Wars: Episode VII, directed by J.J. Abrams, will commence May 2014, and will be based at London's historic Pinewood Studios.
It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time.
