MemberInitiateAug-17-2016 3:01 PMWriting something like "everyone hates the Star Wars prequels" in an official editorial is kind of unprofessional, and certainly untrue. I, for one, adore the prequels, and always have. I grew up with them, and the are a major part of my formative years and what made me a fan of the series. I had NO idea they were held in such contempt until I got online, and started recieving very personal insults for simply enjoying a piece of entertainment. How petty and wrong is that? Worse, I let it affect me, and I started thinking there was something wrong with me for enjoying films that, according to a supposed majority, were garbage.
A fan should never have to feel alone or even hated in his/her own fandom, the people that should be their allies and the people they identify with the most. Don't assume every person shares a popular opinion simply because it's assumed they do. I, for one, am glad this do***entary is happening. I will certainly give it a watch!

MemberNoobAug-18-2016 5:00 AMwell spoken Danzilla93!
Everyone is entitled to like/dislike whatever they choose, but everyone should be respected, no matter what their experience and opinion. Of course, we should be willing to defend our opinions, as we have the right to challenge the opinions of others. But respect and warmth should always be a part of that.
there's a lot I like about the prequels, despite their shortcomings. I've watched them loads and always get something new out of them. Taken as they are, they did expand the universe and offer some spectacular images that only an auteur like Lucas could achieve....

MemberInitiateAug-18-2016 6:10 AMKevin Smith basically nails it when he mentions that the generation that grew up with these movies might have a different opinion, and it appears that's very much true.
While there still is hate towards the prequels from all age groups it seems to have tempered down in the past few years. Some still have a burning hatred for the movies, but I don't think they make up the vast majority. The basic idea appears to be that they're flawed, but ok movies, then there's the side that views them as great.
The fact is people that don't like things will almost always be louder(metaphorically) than the people that do.
