While the Battle for Endor may have been where the Empire fell, it seems that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has added to the saga so that it was the Battle of Jakku where the Empire fought its last fight, well before regrouping and becoming the First Order that is. Presumably, after the death of the Emperor and Lord Vader, and with the destruction of the second Death Star the remaining Imperial forces retreated to Jakku with the Rebel Alliance pursuing them in force.

This is a battle, that seemingly was fought to the bitter end, with much wreckage from both sides of the conflict scattered across the barren world when The Force Awakens begins, with its survivors no calling the desert world their new home. The sheer enormity of this final battle will no doubt be mentioned throughout the forthcoming seventh episode in the Star Wars saga, and it has been revealed will be playable in the new Star Wars Battlefront videogame.
