Contrary to the unspoken rule that the majority of video games based upon a movie license will be nothing more than a mediocre cash in, the majority of video games inspired by the Star Wars Saga have usually been of good, if not exceptional quality - Empire at War, Rogue Squadron, Knights of the Old Republic, Unleashed, Republic Commando and of course Battlefront.
Though at its core Battlefront is essentially Battlefield utilising the Star Wars license its grandiose recreations of the epic battles from the movies has ensured its place in the games collection of many Star Wars fans, giving them the opportunity to participate in the sagas many battles across many iconic worlds such as Hoth, Endor, Kashyyk, Coruscant and Tattooine.
The new sixth instalment in the Star Wars Battlefront series called Star Wars Battlefront, developed by EA has been in production for some time, but little information has been released to date. But thanks to a recent report we have learned that the game will be showcased for the first time at the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, California on April 16-19. Be sure to watch this space around that time!
