Some unfortunate news has come out for fans of Star Wars Battlefront who were anticipating a third installment in the iconic reboot series from Electronic Arts. Apparently, EA shot down a pitch from developers at DICE for a third title when approached.
The reason? EA doesn't see value in pursuing a third game under that title - according to Tom Henderson of IGN (via SWNN) - if a third Battlefront were to be developed, it would need to be under a different moniker to scale back expectations or would require too much of an investment to ensure Battlefront 3 would exceed in scope and scale of the previous two Battlefront reboot titles:


EA are instead developing two new single-player Star Wars titles. Details of those games have yet to be revealed.
