Though the fans have been saying it all along, the inevitable news has now been confirmed - Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool in the 2016 movie; well as soon as he signs on the dotted line. But taking into account his desire to do the role justice after the abomination that appeared at the end of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and taking into account he supplied the voice and motion capture for the recently leaked test footage, and taking into account this post yesterday from Reynolds' own Twitter account...

...its pretty safe to say he will accept the role of everyones merc with a mouth. Hopefully, we will also see Reynolds reprise the role again in the planned X-Force movie - now if only FOX could persuade fan favourite Terminator and Aliens star Michael Biehn to play Cable?
The Deadpool movie will be directed by Tim Miller, be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and is reported to begin production next March.
