Everyone loves a face-off; Aliens vs Predator, Schwarzenegger vs Stallone, BBQ vs Takeaway. One of next years eagerly anticipated face-offs, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the second instalment in DC's Cinematic Universe, which is in itself the rekindling of an age old face-off; Marvel vs DC. While Marvel has one hell of a head start with their MCU soon to enter its third phase with next years other face-off movie Captain America: Civil War, there is no denying the magnetism that Batman v Superman is beginning to generate. But you cant build a cinematic universe on just two movies which is why DC and Warner Bros have, including BvS, twelve movies planned between next year and 2020.
One of these films is rumored to a stand-alone Batman movie entitled The Batman, which will no doubt see Ben Affeck return as the Dark Knight likely facing one or more of his infamous adversaries. New rumors suggest that Affleck may also direct the movie, based upon a screenplay from Chris Terrio whom has scripted BvS and will also pen both Justice League movies. The Batman is also rumored to be scheduled for a 2018 release.
