Ridley Scott has a busy time ahead. After hearing of his Prometheus sequel set for a Fall, 2014 filming start date, he also will be producing Microsoft's top secret Halo digital project which is set to make its first official debut at this year's E3 convention in June. The Wrap reports that Battlestar Galactica director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan has been tapped to direct the live-action Halo project for 343 Industries, Xbox Entertainment Studios and Scott Free Productions.

It's important to note that this project is not the same as the Halo TV series that XBox One and Steven Spielberg have planned. These are two separate projects, both focused on the Halo franchise. The Wrap posted some potential plot details for the untitled project, hinting that it will not be focused on Master Chief, but a different Spartan, in the same fashion as "Halo 4: Foward Unto Dawn". Here's their exact quote:

"Expected to follow the same format as Machinima's “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn,” the story is set in the 26th century and follows a surgically-enhanced super soldier who is not Master Chief, an individual familiar with the project told TheWrap."
