A mysterious alien world, Androids, Humanity's fate and Ridley Scott. What more could you want?! While fans of Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Alien: Covenant await word from Disney on the fate of their beloved Alien movie franchise, HBO Max will curve our Ridley Scott sci-fi cravings in the meantime with upcoming sci-fi drama Raised by Wolves!
Raised by Wolves is an upcoming science fiction TV series produced by Warner Media for the HBO Max streaming service. Directed by Ridley Scott (Alien, Prometheus, Blade Runner, Gladiator) and starring Travis Fimmel and Niamh Algar, the plot involves two androids tasked with raising a Human colony on an alien planet. However, as with Human nature, the colony becomes divided and risks tearing itself apart due to opposing religious beliefs. It is the androids' job to maintain control of the colony, but doing so will prove to be more difficult than anticipated.
The trailer is nothing short of stunning and with Scott at the helm, we're not surprised. Raised by Wolves will be both a visual spectacle as well as a profound exploitation of our fascination with artificial intelligence, religion and the many existential themes which have shaped our species since creation. Watch the first Raised by Wolves trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments!
Raised by Wolves Episode 1 will debut September 3rd, 2020.
