The basic plot outline for Gareth Edwards' 2016 Star Wars spin-off has potentially been leaked by the folks at Slash Film, who claim to have been sent the following information by a reliable source close to the project. Read on for details...
The site claims that this first spin-off film will be a heist story, involving a group of Bounty Hunters as they attempt to steal the original plans to the first Death Star; the same plans which eventually find their way to Princess Leia and R2-D2 in Episode IV: A New Hope. The film would be set in the same era as A New Hope and is also said to feature the Millenium Falcon, though not Han Solo.
With previous rumors suggesting that everyone's favorite Bounty Hunter, Boba Fett will be getting his own spin-off film, it's likely this could be the plot outline for that film.
Helmed by Godzilla director Gareth Edwwards, this first (of three) Star Wars spin-offs will release in 2016 in between Episode VII and Episode VIII. Disney and company have decided not to comment on the above rumors, so until we know for sure, we urge readers to take the information above with a grain of salt.
