From August 6th through to and including August 27th, in a tour across 20 cities in the US the original Star Wars trilogy will see a limited re-release in select theatres and movie drive thru's. Tickets to these showings will become available on Star Wars day, May 4th from the Return of the Trilogy website. These select triple features will also include specially curated videos, features, props and contests for fans.
Henri Mazza, vice president of special events at the Alamo Drafthouse, which is running the historic event had this say...
“It’s always been a dream to show the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy again – somehow, some way. Seeing the original trilogy on the big screen for the first time is a real life-altering event and just a supreme amount of fun. When the films became available to book for screenings like these, we jumped at the chance to do something big.”
