This new TV spot for the controversial Terminator Genisys starts out with the grey haired Guardian Terminator, portrayed by aging action star Arnold Schwarzenegger, handcuffed to a desk in a police stations interview booth while being questioned by a detective about the confrontation with the younger looking T-800 at the Griffith Observatory 33 years earlier. The trailer also shows most of the footage we have already seen in previous teasers, trailers and spots, but does show more of John Connor AKA the T-5000's stereotypical villain speech, before throwing the Guardian Terminator across the room were the TDE is being built.
Unfortunately the idea of Schwarzeneggers T-800 being arrested and questioned by the police loses its gravity in Terminator Genisys, because of the movies resetting and manipulation of the timeline of events. Because the Guardian T-800 destroys the assassin T-800 in 1984, the assassin T-800 never storms West Highland police station, and subsequently never guns down 17 police officers, including Lt Ed Traxler (the late Paul Winfield) and Detective Hal Vukovich (Lance Henriksen). Had this event been allowed to happen in Terminator Genisys' new timeline of events, then this scene would hold so much more gravity - remember, in both T2 and T3 the LAPD were still actively searching for the West Highland police station killer, of course completely unaware that it/he was a cybernetic organism sent backwards through time to alter future events in its creators favor.
