According to a report from Variety the sixth Terminator movie has had its release date pushed back to November 2019. Paramount Pictures has stated that the new release date was planned before news of Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger's recent heart surgery. Originally due for release July 26th, 2019, the new release date of November 22nd, 2019 gives director Tim Miller (Deadpool) and writer/producer/creator James Cameron an extra four months to deliver what Terminator fans are hoping will be the definitive Terminator sequel, after the poor critical and commercial performances garnered by 2003's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, 2010's Terminator Salvation, and 2015's Terminator Genisys.
Produced by David Ellison's Skydance Productions the as-of-yet untitled sixth Terminator movie will see Schwarzenegger reunited with franchise star Linda Hamilton alongside Blade Runner 2029's Mackenzie Davis. Contrary to reports from some outlets this new Terminator movie will not be a reboot of the franchise, but a direct sequel to 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day and possibly the first instalment in a new trilogy, according to Cameron and Miller's video interview with THR six months ago.
