Filming for Rian Johnson's Star Wars Episode VIII is currently underway at Michael Skellig in Ireland, a location used towards the end of filming for Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the home of Luke Skywalker, portrayed by original Star Wars trilogy star Mark Hamill. Reports from StarWars7News.com suggest that both Hamill and sequel trilogy starlett Daisy Ridley will be present for filming. Yet it is new addition to the cast for the sequel, due for release in 2017, Oscar winning Puerto Rican star Benicio del Toro that is snatching the headlines.
Previously the star of last years surprise Marvel Studios hit Guardians of the Galaxy inferred the possibility that the character he will be playing in Episode VIII would be a villain, yet in a more recent interview with ET del Toro has alluded that his character may not be a villain, leaving fans somewhat perplexed...
“I don't know if he's a villain,” teased Del Toro. “People are saying that, but it's like they read a different script than I read.”
“It's nice to keep people in the dark, a little bit of mystery is good,” said Del Toro. “If they want to believe it’s the villain, then good.”
