Love him or loathe him there is no denying that when a movie is directed by American director Michael Bay, you know what kind of movie you are going to get - loud and explosive, with beautiful cars and exotic women, and a slight military presence; which pretty much sums up all of the live action Transformer movies to date.
After wrapping up on post-production for 2011's Dark of the Moon, the final movie in the franchises original trilogy Bay announced that he would not return as director for the next instalment only to later direct 2014's Age of Extinction, which he then also announced would be his last term as director for the franchise.
Unsurprisingly the director has revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone while promoting his latest movie 13 Hours (trailer above) that he will in fact return to direct the franchises fifth instalment. Reportedly Bay states that the 2017 sequel will be his last as director, but we've heard that on before...
“‘Transformers,’ I still have a great time. It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else.”
