When Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on December 16th Star Wars fans will witness a new chapter in Hollywood's premier science fiction franchise. British director Gareth Edwards is set to place fans and audiences amidst the frontlines of full scale, vast, explosive battles that the franchise's name has always promised but never truly shown, until now - Rogue One will be the Star Wars saga's first war movie. To realize the titanic interstellar warfare between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire Rogue One will introduce an arsenal of new hardware for both warring factions. With the exception of the U-Wing Troop Transport (mislabeled as the Rebel Starfighter in the recent visual guide leak) very little is known about any new hardware available to the Rebel Alliance, with most of the new pieces of hardware revealed thus far having belonged to the Galactic Empire, they are:
Enforcer Droid

These droids are normally used to support Imperial Troopers. One of these droids, K-2S0 (voiced by Alan Tudyk) was captured and reprogrammed by the Rebel Alliance joins the rebel spies in a daring mission to steal the plans to the Galactic Empires superweapon named the Death Star.
Deathtroopers

Reportedly Deathtroopers are a squad of elite Stormtroopers under the direct command of Imperial Director Orson Krennic.

Tank Trooper

TIE Striker

The smallest of the Imperial starfighters the striker is the fastest in the imperial fleet, specialized for aerial combat with its 4 laser cannons.

This four-winged variant of the tri-wing Imperial Personnel Shuttle was used by Imperial forces to deploy ground forces onto the battlefield.
