According to THR Linda Hamilton, who last starred as Sarah Connor in 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day and made a brief voice cameo in 2009's Terminator Salvation will be returning to the iconic role in the forthcoming Terminator movie to be written by James Cameron and directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool). Cameron, who was briefly married to Hamilton followed the release of Terminator 2 reportedly made the announcement at a private event celebrating the franchise, saying...
"As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return."
"There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys,” he said, referring to aging male actors still anchoring movies, “but there isn’t an example of that for women.”
Hamilton will reunite with franchise anchor Arnold Schwarzenegger for the new movie, the details of which are still unknown although THR is reporting the movie will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2, the last Terminator movie written and directed by creator Cameron.
