A remake of the original Dino Crisis game was in development at Capcom, but new insider reporting suggests the game has officially been canceled...
Last year rumors began to circulate that a Dino Crisis game remake was in active development behind the scenes at Capcom. Insiders close to the project had leaked information confirming Capcom's plans of revisiting and reviving the dormant property for next generation consoles. With the hype surrounding Jurassic World 3, it seemed like a great time to rebrand Dino Crisis and remind the gaming community of this lesser known, hidden gem of a game.
Unfortunately however, recent developments suggest that although the Dino Crisis remake was in development for a brief moment, for reasons unknown Capcom has chosen to scrap it entirely. One insider reported the following on Twitter:
A Dino Crisis game actually was started a few years ago, but then scrapped and buried, and the franchise for now is still extinct for the time being.
It's extremely unfortunate to hear... Many of us were getting our hopes up that we would see a Dino Crisis revival in the next couple years. Due to this, we regress to merely wishing that one day Capcom will revisit the property and give it the refreshing comeback it deserves.
