Following the recent news that the sixth movie in the Terminator franchise has had its release date pushed back from July to November 2019 Screen Rant has reported that Diego Boneta, star of Netflix's The Titan has been cast in a key role in the upcoming movie. Boneta will join MacKenzie Davis, as well as franchise stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the reportedly "true" sequel to 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Although the new Terminator movie will be directed by Deadpools Tim Miller, the involvement of the franchises creator James Cameron as a producer and screenwriter/creative consultant has fans hopeful that the franchise will finally return to prominence after two sub-par sequels and one atrocious attempt at rebooting the franchise.
That said, many fans felt the same way when it was announced that Ridley Scott was to return to the Alien franchise. However, after 2012's Prometheus and last years Alien: Covenant the Alien fanbase has become divided on whether or not Scott's return was a good idea and whether or not he should be allowed to complete his series of Alien prequel movies. Could Terminator fans end up resenting Camerons return?
