Studio Paramount Pictures have registered the name Star Trek Beyond with the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) according to Trekkie site Trek Movie, making it highly probable this will be the name for the new Star Trek movie which is currently being written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, with Justin Lin attached to replace J. J. Abrams as the movies director - the same Justin Lin whom turned down Terminator Genisys.

Very little is known about the movie, which will be the thirteenth Star Trek movie to date. We do know that British actor Idris Elba (Prometheus) and Algerian/French actress Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: the Secret Service) will be joining the cast, although in what capacity has yet to be announced. According to co-writer and co-star Simon Pegg, the new movie will see the crew venture in to deep space for the first time since the franchise was rebooted in 2009. All of the main cast (pictured above) are expected to return, and the movie will undoubtedly be dedicated to the memory of Leonard Nimoy, whom passed away recently.
Star Trek Beyond will hit theatres July 8th, 2016!
