Introduction:
This year was a significant one in the history of technology and more specifically, gaming, as BioWare has set its eyes on the ultimate goal. The perfect third-person action game that features not just the most advanced sci-fi universe but a whole world for you to explore and play in. The game’s idea is based on the massive multiplayer online role-playing game setting that allows players from all around the world play in one of the biggest environments ever set in gaming history. Given that Electronic Arts is behind the publishing of the game set in 2019, we can hope to expect that the idea will deliver.
The Design:
Anthem is being developed by some of the most advanced systems in place and promises to pack a decade of entertainment. Since its development began in 2012, after the successful launch of Mass Effect 3, Casey Hudson left BioWare and returned to the company as the project lead and studio head in 2017. The idea Hudson had for the game revolved around the idea of a massive world that could be enough for a lot of superhumans. The team understood that everything had to be big. The world, the AI, the programs, everything had to be bigger than ever. Critics and gamers around the world were left with cravings when the E3 demo aired 30-minute gameplay featuring some of the work.
The universe is designed to be something near to the world shown in the movie Avatar. With the human race in a whole new galaxy and a planet with life stranger to our own, with exotic sceneries and landscapes that are in all senses of the phrase, out of this world. The game was showcased on Microsoft’s E3 conference in 2017.
The Gameplay and The Environment:
The theme of the game is set in a universe where players are soldiers with exo-suits, namely, javelins. Players, or Freelancers, are free to customize their exo-suits with whatever they choose to, giving them enhanced unique weapons and superhuman abilities. The idea of the exo-suits is very much like Halo’s design of the armor that the player has. But in Anthem, you get more of the Iron Man action while looking like Master Chief. Up until now, only two javelins have been revealed. The Colossus and the Ranger. The Colossus is the heavy gunner and armored javelin and the Ranger is the all-around balanced javelin. Although ideas for more javelins were revealed like the Storm and the Interceptor, both with their own special and unique abilities.
Of course, combine all that with a multiplayer network that spreads across the world with every gamer interested in the game coming into it with their own customizations and abilities. The possibilities are endless and the limitations of the game are seemingly without end as of now but more updates will release when EA is thru with its late release of another Battlefield title. In fact, that is the reason EA delayed the Anthem project to 2019. It had planned to release another title before the end of 2018.
Conclusion:
It is a crazy era for development that we are living in. Not just consoles but all tech gadgets are getting crazy programs, games, apps to make the consumer want it all. Apps like flexispy, PUBG and Injustice 2 on smart devices and games like Mortal Kombat that is hitting the market with its latest sequel, we can expect a lot more to surprise us in the coming years.
