Pacific Rim 2: Uprising is currently in its post-production stage, where ILM are busy bringing the dramatic battle sequences between Kaiju and man-made Jaeger mechs to life. But, before ILM got to have a crack at the Pacific Rim sequel, the film's creative focus was guided by its concept artists. Our pal Matt Hatton, concept artist on Pacific Rim 2, as well as the recent Prometheus sequel Alien: Covenant has shared a photo is his crew sweater that he received while working on the film.
The sweater depicts the head of what we now know to be the new protagonist Jaeger Gipsy Avenger - an upgraded evolution of the heroic Gipsy Danger from Guillermo del Toro's original. The title also seems to signify that the title for Pacific Rim: Uprising will in fact have a "2" added between Pacific Rim and the Uprising subtitle. Check it out:
Matt also briefly explained how the budgetary constraints placed on Uprising made it a challenging process, but yet still an enjoyable one nonetheless. Unfortunately he can't share more at this time, but as soon as he is able, you'll be able to find it right here, on PacificRim2-Movie.com!
