The only thing that is pretentious about Alien Covenant are the fan boys who have spent to much time blogging in their parents basement cultivating Alien mythologies and origins and expecting Ridley to deliver on those.
Covenant is a great horror SciFi movie. Beautifully made and interesting to watch. It's frightening... And that is all Ridley had to do. I loved it.
