To fight monsters, we created monsters. This is a great summer blockbuster. I love this film. When I was watching this film it felt like Independence Day, but it wasn't so cheesy and amazing special effects. I actually liked the acting of all the actors. Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, and Idris Elba. I liked all the acting and I big criticism is that Charlie Hunnam wasn't a lead character. I disagree. I think I would have reacted the same way as he did if what happened to him happened to me and He wasn't the main character. Everybody had their own story arcs and it seemed that everybody had a big part to the film. Everybody had information to give to elevate the story. You should also see the film in 3d because you feel like your in the universe. Charlie Hunnam was great and him and Rinko had a good connection on screen. Charlie Day and the other scientist had a good connection and good story arc together and it made sense. They were funny and I wish they had more scenes because they made me laugh every time on screen. Ron Perlman was actually a good part and helped out our main characters. He was also a great character in the film and you could tell when he came on screen that he was in a Guillermo Del Toro film. He was hilarious and I also wish he was in the movie a little more. Idris Elba crushed it and him and Rinko and him had great chemistry and you understood their storyline. He was so great and I couldn't stop from cheering, in my head of course, when he said that speech. The whole cast was great. There was only a few scenes where the pace of the film slowed down a little to much. The minor characters even had great story arcs that I loved. The special effects were the best. I thought the special effects were good in Man of Steel and these special effects blow them out of the water. You saw all $190 million on the screen and the fights scenes looked real. You also saw them to scale and you couldn't not smile when a Jaeger kills a Kaiju. This movie was killed at the box office because it wasn't marketed well enough. I think if they could show some of the scenes that I loved a month before and not a week before. You would rather go to this than Grown Ups 2 because I have seen both. This movie will make you smile every time you see it. I think that these effects will hold up for like the next 20 years like how Jurassic Park still holds up. You should definitely go see it. I would give this film a 8.9 out of 10. It is almost a ten with a few bad minor performances and a few scenes that were paced bad compared to the film, but you should definitely go see it in 3d.
