After the groundbreaking masterpiece "Jurassic Park", Spielberg knew that a sequel was on-its-way. Unfortunately, the magic of the first film was left out (unintentionally). With only Attenborough and Goldblum returning from the original cast, the film was unable to find its flame as two different groups, one to capture the dinosaurs and one ot observe and film, went at eachother on the sister island, Isla Sorna.
Unfortunately, The Lost World: Jurassic Park will always be the film that got away. Spielberg was so focused on pleasing the World that he forgot to trust his instincts and the film ended-up being mostly disappointing. Yes, the dinosaur scenese and visuals were beautiful, but the heart and emotion that made "Jurassic Park" were completely absent and this has to be one of Spielberg's highest regrets.
