A giant meteorite with magnetic powers, an assasination plot against a princess, and someone claiming to be a Venusian. What does all this have in common? A Godzilla movie of course.
The Good: The introduction of one of the best daikaiju, King Ghidorah. This has many other monsters as well, so anyone looking for a big monster fight is going to be happy. The human story about the princess is also interesting.
The Bad: This is the point in the series where Godzilla started getting more kid friendly, and while not usually a bad thing, it doesn’t play well when played opposite of a character like King Ghidorah. While the human story is good, it doesn’t actually tie that much into the bigger story and you can find yourself wondering why they are still there.
Conclusion: While the human story is interesting, the actual human characters (besides the princess) are pretty bland and forgettable. Some will say that the monster brawl at the end makes up for that, but it can take a little while to get there. That being said, it is still a solid entry into the Godzilla series and worth a watch.
