@Gem}n{ Your theory fits so well as a possible "why" the crew is apparently at the receiving end of a lot of negativity, so to speak....the croissant gets rammed, the planetary surface opens up, general mayhem time. I see old age as less than no problem at all, we see advances in medicine all the time. Somewhere I saw an interview where Ridley speaks about Weyland and says 'we see him in the film as a much older man'. I see him as the sole catalyst of wrath, with the entire crew taking the lumps...that is, if the trailer we see actually is a condensed visual depiction of at least part of the film...I suspect that it's the tip of an iceberg...the story goes into something of which no footage has been released, no reference has been made and is the real reason for all the misdirection and general blarney from Fox and the films principals. Oh yeah, the pictograms...Weyland has an ace up his sleeve..he knows what nobody else knows...Noomi missed something back on Earth, but Weylands team figured it partly out..enough to send an old man on a trip believing he can live a lot longer, maybe forever and the crew is expendable. I really dont see age as a problem at all.

Oddly enough one of the reasons I hope Prometheus ends up rated "R" is because we need an epic, R-rated, big budget genre film to do well at the box office so that the studios will give Guillermo del Toro the budget to make "At the Mountains of Madness" his way. They pulled the plug on the project a year ago because they weren't willing to let him make a big budget horror movie (and that was with James Cameron as his Executive Producer and Tom Cruise willing to play the lead). Maybe if Prometheus does well at the box office they will change their minds (the fact that they might have similar themes could help too).

I may not be the first to suggest this but; I could see the xeno being a weapon created to drop on a planet you didn't like from orbit. Like in starship troopers. Someone to do the dirty work, whom evolves to become more like it's prey to better hunt it, and acid blood, life cycle, etc.. That would explain the direct infection, access to our dna like a virus. Just think in Prometheus promo they send a ship to earth for some mysterious purpose after Promethues lands on this planet. I'm sure that the SJ's could identify what race had arrived. If I had a weapon like that I would immediately send one out to the homeworld of any race that landed on my homeworld. What if that qoute about a king has his reign and then dies. Well some people want to share the misery, what if the sj's are dead and simply wish to share their marvelous tech advancements posthumously with all who visit thier now dead planet. I don't know how to explain all the mythology and worship in the movies but note the xeno mural doesn't have a head as if to suggest it's face will change with who it hunts.

I think the "green globe" is Earth's coordinates and the Blue is placing this into the navigation system before he then sits in the chair and becomes one with the ship. It's the same sphere David is holding in the Star Map room ( which is actually the same room and the SJ's telescope/ gun thing chair ) but instead of it being blue when David holds it, it turns green when being placed into the navigation system.

Actually in that top pic.....look at all of the jagged rocks around the floor.....do you think they can get bigger but keep their shape in around 37 years time? Looks like the beginings of the LV-426 landscape......just erm....smaller lol.

Plus i reckon all those egg shapes on the panel in front of his face light up with holograms of some kind.....the whole ship seems to use holo technology. We just havnt seen them light up yet.

The blue guy makes me feel very uncomfortable, not cos he's so "scary", but cos he could ruin the whole thing for me. For 33 years now I wondered: Who are the space jockeys? And that's exactly what Prometheus is going to answer, Ridley Scott says. He also says that the space jockeys are a "civilisation obviously not comprehendible by us" (Alien-DVD audio commentary), and that's why I love the movie Alien. Finally, some filmmaker took the topic seriously: What would happen if we are confronted by a completely alien culture and technology we do not understand in the slightest? Hence the title: "Alien". No cheesy StarWarsTrek "aliens" with ridiculous make-up and costumes. I expect from Prometheus nothing less than to keep this idea up. That's why I could never accept that a space jockey is nothing but a blue guy with xeno-characteristics on his skin. That would be StarWarsTrek standard. If the blue guy is a "mutated" member of the Prometheus crew, then that's OK, it would explain his human shape. And I don't like the idea of that thing in the chair being just a suit either - I always thought "that thing" actually WAS the space jockey. I did NOT wait 33 years to see that the original space jockey is nothing but a box out of which jumps a member of the blue-man-group!

Well as far as I have seen ... there has been no NORMAL electronic panels or devices ANYWHERE on the planet or in the Derelict Ship ... SO ... I'm concluding that all their 'electronics stuff' must be Biomech (BioOrganism) based? ... and those little (white-sish) eggshaped objects around the control panel in the HoloRoom must be their version of switches? ... and the globe like thingy some sort of monitor device ... also those eggshapes are on the panel in front of people who sit in the chair ... so must be another panel of sorts? ... but you get my drift ...
